This small selection from a 10 year project documenting the small trees in a local park is a project still looking for a format. It may eventually become a book or an exhibit.

Softspoken and gentle, he was first person I met upon discovering this park. From what I could gather, he was the original caretaker. He was very patient as I would often visit and ask him questions with my elementary language skills. One day was wasn’t there, and I was told that he got sick and had to go back to his hometown.

Caretakers quarters. Just enough room for a bed, chair, radio and hot water pot. Yes, it had electricity but no bathroom. And yes, that is where they lived.
